Definitely a worthwhile buy!

I was gifted the GoPro Hero 4 Silver camera, however I am not the most tech savvy individual so was a little intimidated to use it until I discovered Jordan Hetrick's "How to Use the GoPro Hero 4 Silver". The instructions are easy to understand, laid out in a user friendly format and with so many great tips, I already feel like a pro who has been doing this for years! I especially found the section on editing super helpful as this is where I seem to get lost in taking lots of footage but not knowing what to do with it! This book is definitely a worthwhile buy for anyone looking to maximize their use of the GroPro Hero 4 Silver.

Essential for First Time users and great for everyone else

I finally got my first GoPro and decided to go with the 4 silver. To a first time user and for someone who basically used their phone to take pictures and videos. These cameras have a lot of options that are far outside my basic knowledge and without at least some basic understanding of what each feature does, you will lower the quality of your videos and pictures and not be as satisfied with you purchase. This book did an excellent job of explaining how all the features work and even gives examples of when to use each feature to which make it easier to understand. This way you don't have to learn what does and doesn't work in certain situations and it even gets the wheels in your head turning on new ideas and ways to use your camera. I probably would have been overwhelmed with this camera if I hadn't gotten this book.

An Absolute Must-Read

Frank Worrall is a prolific author that knows the game of football. His biographies on Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale, Ryan Giggs, and Chicharito are some of the best you’ll find when it comes to the beautiful game. He does great work for John Blake Publishing time in and time out.

But we have to say that his most recent offering, Jamie Vardy: The Boy from Nowhere, is at a whole new level and is perhaps his greatest work.

The story of Jamie Vardy is a popular one these days, but this one is a bit different and a whole lot better. A lot of time is spent on Vardy’s time in non-league and that experience clearly made him the player he is today. There is also a great discussion of the disappointment he faced as a youth when he was turned away by his local club; we’re sure that Sheffield Wednesday would want him today if given a second chance.

His story is so inspirational, very, very few non-league players make it to the Champions League or the English national team, but Jamie Vardy did and did so against all the odds. He’s an example for others to follow, someone who has overcome a life’s worth of obstacles to reach the peak of professional and international football.

This book also points out his indiscretions, doesn’t shove them under the rug so to speak. Those issues, which are isolated and in the past, make up just another set of obstacles. Vardy has since put the negativity behind him and is looking toward the future, his and the future for those like him. His latest project, the V9 Academy, gives back to the sport and gives other talented footballers the chance to make it big, Jamie Vardy big.

If you want to learn about Vardy and his background and career, then this is the book for you. You don’t have to wait for his autobiography to come out in October; you can simply enjoy this one now.

It’s a great story of doing the unexpected, along the lines of Horatio Alger or Rocky. I’m glad that Worrall and John Blake teamed up for this one. It is a must-read because it captures the spirit and journey of Jamie Vardy, the boy from nowhere that made it big everywhere.

Pretty good collection

I like the selection of songs, and I understand why they are arranged in the keys that they are in (for playing in groups of traditional musicians), but in many cases that means that they are not in the easiest keys for an ukulele. So, that makes this a beginner /intermediate level book in my estimation, rather than just entry level.

an it is worth EVERY PENNY!!!

This book has an explanation of different strumming patterns, picking and rolls, then each song has 3 arrangements; 1st- the music melody line and lyrics and chords and tabs for the Uke, and then 2nd- is strumming with chords and tabs and the 3rd is rolling with chords and tabs. This gives you everything you want!!! He also explains how to do certain exercises or strums on his cd, I am soooo pleased with this book and I almost didn't buy it because it was almost 20 bucks, I'm so glad I did!! After you learn these methods you can apply them to any of your songs! Oh I almost forgot, I also saw that Fred Sokolow has some youtube videos and in the "beginning for ukulele players" he demonstrates these strums and rolls - very helpful. I would very much recommend this to anyone trying to learn bluegrass on the ukulele, if you only get one book get this!!

Good book.When I heard the CD my first reaction was: "I love to play like this" which is a good starting point for a textbook.
I love that each song has three arangements, strum and sing along, strum with melody and fingerpicking.
So that enables play-along with my friends. Boosted my Ukulele experience.

Hungarian Jewish novelist and journalist Zsolt (who died in 1949) experienced more than his share of suffering, as documented in this Holocaust memoir published in English for the first time (it originally appeared in serial form in 1946 in a magazine Zsolt founded). Born in 1895, Zsolt was well known in intellectual circles during the 1920s and '30s as a liberal political journalist. This book highlights his years in Ukraine as a forced laborer for the Hungarian army, the months he spent in a ghetto in Nagyvárad awaiting deportation to Auschwitz and his escape from the ghetto in the spring of 1944 (he eventually made it to Switzerland with his wife). As one of the first Holocaust memoirs, this piercing account displays a raw freshness that is as vivid as it is horrifying. It lacks the genre's usual displays of hope and strength, focusing instead on humanity's basest instincts, as expressed by the brutal Hungarian gendarmes and by their Jewish victims as well. Noting his inability to write of the horrors he experienced, Szolt reports, "I resisted my own experiences with elementary force, like a man who tries to overcome a malignant tumor that pokes conspicuously through his skin by not looking...." Clearly, Szolt's writing capacity returned with a vengeance after the war; his powerful, poignant honesty shows little mercy to his readers' sensibilities.

*Starred Review* The author, a Jew, was born in northern Hungary in 1895 and moved to Budapest in 1920. During the next two decades, Zsolt became one of Hungary's most prolific writers, producing 10 novels and four plays. A sophisticated bohemian, he spent much of his life in the fashionable coffee houses among writers, artists, and intellectuals, conducting political and cultural campaigns. In 1942 he was sent to the Ukraine, but his influential friends in Budapest succeeded in bringing him home in 1943, where he was thrown into a notorious political prison and detained there for four months. In 1944 Zsolt and his wife escaped from a Hungarian ghetto, went underground, and eventually found a safe haven in Switzerland. They returned to Hungary in 1945. His mother, brothers, and sisters; his wife's parents; and her 13-year-old daughter by her first husband were murdered in Auschwitz. Nine Suitcases was originally published in weekly installments in 1946 and 1947 in a Hungarian journal; in 1980, the compilation was published as a book. Concentrating mainly on his experiences as an inmate of the ghetto of Nagyvarad and as a forced laborer in the Ukraine, the author provides not only a rare and perceptive insight into Hungarian fascism but also a horrifying exposure of the depths of the cruelty, indifference, cowardice, and betrayal of which human beings are capable. These horrors, interspersed with moments of grotesque farce, paint a nightmarish picture of a world without hope during the Holocaust--an important book, to be sure. George Cohen

Brutal, Gripping, Honest.

Written almost immediately following the end of WWII, there was no distance between M. Zsolt and his experiences.

Originally published as articles in a magazine, the force of the writing really slams into the reader from the beginning. M. Zsolt picks up his story in 1944 in the Nagyvarad ghetto. At that time, he had already been a slave ('forced labourer') for the Hugarian forces allied with the Nazis in the Ukraine, survived, freed, and then thrown into prison as a political prisoner. He is already in his late 40s, and a veteran of WWI.

What struck me in this memoir is the similarity of M. Zsolt's thinking about the horrors he endures and the writings of M. Wiesel. Both authors come to the conclusion that there are no words to communicate the experience, yet both realize they must attempt to do so.

I'm thankful that this memoir is now available in English (and the translator was actually with M. Zsolt in Bergen-Belsen as a boy).

Excellent memoir of Bela Zsolt who was the step father of Eva Heyman, a thirteen year old girl from Hungary, who left behind a diary of her last days before being sent to a concentration camp and her death there shortly after. This book covers that period of WWII and shortly after.

A Stunning Achievement

Bela Zsolt produced one of the finest Holocaust memoirs I have ever read. Like Primo Levi, he was a keen observer. He provides the reader with a magnificently detailed account of his thoughts and experiences as he is caught up in the horrors of the Nazi era. Moreover, he presents us with no stereotypes. You won't find unadulterated two-dimensional representations of good or evil in his narrative. These are fully developed human beings, complex, conflicted, and anguished. The result is a breathtaking view of the horrors mankind inflicts on itself in the worst of times.
