Too often we feel like underdogs fighting a system that stacks the odds against us. We work hard, follow the rules, and dream of a better life. But these days, working harder doesn’t always lead to fulfillment. In fact, according to Gallup research, nearly 90 percent of people feel disconnected from their jobs. So how do you break free from the drudgery and achieve more success on your own terms?
You hustle.
The secret lies in making manageable tweaks and placing small bets on pursuits that propel you from who you are today to the person you’re destined to become.
In Hustle, Neil Patel, Patrick Vlaskovits, and Jonas Koffler―three of the nation’s top entrepreneurs and consultants―have teamed up to teach you how to look at work and life through a new lens―one based on discovering projects you enjoy and the people and opportunities that support your talents, growth, income, and happiness.
The authors reveal their groundbreaking three-part framework of Heart, Head, and Habits. Along the way, you will learn to redefine hustle as the optimal path to success using powerful, often counterintuitive, advice, including:
• Why you must own your dreams, not rent dreams from others
• Ways to create your own luck and “POP”
• How to betray yourself to stay true to yourself―and develop your potential
• The four major career hustles and the path that's best for you

Was looking forward to reading this...
By Steve & Karen
Was looking forward to reading this but didn't get much from it. The first 20% is written like a marketing piece trying to get you in touch with your pain. After that it picked up a bit. I learned a couple of things - the exercise from Peter Drucker about how to find your talent was excellent and I'll be looking up more of his work. Was really expecting more from the book though since Neil's blog is such a great source of information and I associate him with 'hustle' so I thought it would go a little deeper into it. If the book had been condensed into about 1/3 of the length I think it would have been a lot easier to read, instead there's a number of very heavy handed stories to illustrate some points while others were just repeated in a variety of ways. There were also a few acronyms I have no idea what they meant (GTFO?, FML?) and some swear words. Overall, just didn't get a lot from it and didn't think it was worth the price.

Good for the right audience.
By Gregory V. Diehl
As a personal development author, I find it endlessly interesting how many different ways other authors can come with personalized ways to say what, to me, amounts to more or less the same principled message. The style of that message is what will determine how appealing it is to specific types of seekers. Hustle is written to appeal to entreprenurial "go get 'em" types - in a word, hustlers. While I enjoyed most of the author's choice of language and focus, much of it was lost on me because I prefer a more analytical approach to the pinnacle of self. That said, I still saw the sincerity with which it was written, and I don't doubt that many people will gain a lot from Neil's particular approach to getting things done and living a life worth bragging about. If you like his other stuff, you will almost certainly like this too.

Stop Making Excuses, Start Hustling!
By PerfectStranger
If you thought that, to have any kind of success in life, you needed to be born to a rich family, have influential friends or possess some extraordinary talent that’s only bestowed upon one single individual every generation, you better think again. The fact is: all you need is HUSTLE!
In this eye-opening book, the author proceeds to show us – with plenty of evidence to back up his claims – that everyone can lead a dream life if he will just give himself a chance to.
In a lot of ways, “Hustle” can be considered a manual on how to discover our own path. How to find out what makes us truly happy and what to do to go from dream to reality. It’s a must-read for anyone who’s feeling unfulfilled or stuck in a situation which he hates (lousy job, unhealthy relationship or general lack of purpose.) In short, it’s a must for all those who can’t seem to get a break.
Most of us are trapped in what the author calls the “Cycle of Suck.” A vicious circle of chronic discontent where we’re not quite depressed, yet we’re far from feeling happy. Everything seems just “meh” and we can’t find joy in anything. This book represents the first step to getting out of that circle’s pull. It teaches us how we’re sabotaging our chances every step of the way and what we can do to regain control, take ownership of our dreams and transform our life forever.
To do that, the book has been divided into 3 parts. The 3 main areas (Heart, Head, Habits) that we will need to address in order to break free and release our full potential. That’s where the value of this work really lies, in my opinion. That’s how I could personally identify the various ways in which the others (and myself) had been hurting my progress all those years.
When I read a book, I also judge how useful it’s been by how many new concepts it made me grasp. I like to learn new theories that will expand my comprehension of this world. To me, concepts are like vocabulary; the more you know, the better armed you get. And on that point, “Hustle” delivers as well. Some of the new ideas that made me stop and think included developing a POP (or Personal Opportunity Portfolio) which will allow us to keep track of our hustling. The “10 minutes rule” or even the 3 unseen laws of hustle (do something that moves you; keep your head up and your eyes open; seal the deal and make it real) which are essential in escaping the Cycle of Suck.
All in all, “Hustle” is a guide for regular people who want to live an extraordinary life full of meaning.
